Pontefract, Castleford and Normanton Day Opportunities

 No description

What we do

Wakefield Council provides day opportunities for people with learning disabilities.  Our aim is to work in partnership with carers, people using our services, and other agencies in promoting personal development and social inclusion.  We recognise that everyone is unique so our service is "person centred", which means we do things in a way that the person wants and we adapt our approach to meet the individual's needs.

We support people to run several work style opportunities around catering, gardening, making cards and other crafts, woodwork and furniture recycling.

How to access the service

To access the service you will need to have a Community Care Assessment, which is undertaken by a social worker or social care manager.  You will also have a financial assessment and we will tell you how much you will have to pay towards the costs.

How you can contact us

You can contact us through Social Care Direct on 0845 8 503 503 or email social_care_direct@wakefield.gov.uk.
