Cypress Road is a short breaks unit in Normanton.  It provides opportunities for people with learning disabilities to have a break away from the family home.

It provides overnight care for up to 4 people at any 1 time.  There are 4 bedrooms each with en-suite facilities.  There is an accessible separate bathroom with a rise and fall bath.  There is a separate kitchen, dining room and lounge with independent laundry.

There is a safely enclosed garden to the rear of the property with patio and raised beds for plants.  At the unit there are opportunities for indoor activities such as sensory activites, use of games consoles or a mini bus for outings.

Visits are made to local places of interest and to community facilities.

Anyone with a learning disability who is living at home with family aged between 18 and 64 living in the Wakefield area can access the service. Contact Social Care Direct or your care manager for more information.
